Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using the EMF Medical Aid Society WhatsApp chatbot service ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Who May Use the Service

The Service is available exclusively to:

• Registered members of EMF Medical Aid Society
• Authorised dependants of registered members

Use of the Service by any other person is not permitted.

3. What the Service Provides

The Service allows members to access their medical aid account information via WhatsApp, including:

• Benefit balances
• Premium schedules
• Account statements
• Dependant information
• Membership details
• Benefit and tariff schedules

The Service is provided for informational purposes only. Information displayed through the chatbot is based on data held in EMF's systems and may not reflect real-time changes. For official account queries or disputes, please contact EMF directly.

4. Member Responsibilities

When using the Service, you agree to:

• Provide your correct membership number when requested
• Keep your membership number confidential and not share it with others
• Use the Service only for your own account and not on behalf of others without authorisation
• Not attempt to access account information belonging to other members
• Not use the Service for any unlawful purpose

5. Accuracy of Information

While EMF takes reasonable care to ensure the accuracy of information provided through the Service, we do not warrant that all information is complete, current, or error-free. Members should verify critical account details directly with EMF before making financial or medical decisions based on information obtained through the chatbot.

6. Availability

EMF does not guarantee that the Service will be available at all times. The Service may be interrupted for maintenance, upgrades, or reasons beyond our control. We will endeavour to restore the Service as quickly as possible in the event of an outage.

7. Third-Party Platform

The Service operates over WhatsApp, a platform owned and operated by Meta Platforms, Inc. Your use of WhatsApp is subject to Meta's own Terms of Service and is independent of these terms. EMF is not responsible for the availability or conduct of the WhatsApp platform.

8. Intellectual Property

All content, branding, and materials associated with the Service are the property of EMF Medical Aid Society. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without prior written consent from EMF.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, EMF Medical Aid Society shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service. EMF's total liability for any claim arising out of the use of the Service shall not exceed the amount paid by you in premiums in the month in which the claim arose.

10. Termination

EMF reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, without notice, if you are found to be in breach of these Terms of Service or if your membership with EMF is no longer active.

11. Changes to These Terms

EMF may update these Terms of Service from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this document reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after changes are published constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of Zimbabwe. Any disputes arising from the use of the Service shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Zimbabwe.
